Synergy between BPJS Employment Plaza BPJamsostek and Poltekes Jakarta III: Protect 3,000 Internship Students through the BPU Program

JAKARTA - BPJS Employment (BPJamsostek) Plaza Branch Office BPJamsostek continues to intensify the expansion of the scope of social security protection. This time, a proactive step is taken by holding a socialization of the Employment Social Security program to the management and all new students at Poltekes Jakarta III.

This socialization activity was represented by representative officers from the BPJamsostek Plaza, Wendy and Rezza. The visit resulted in strategic coordination with the Head of the Sub-Section (Kasubag) of the Treasurer of Poltekes Jakarta III, Mrs. Tyias, to discuss the registration mechanism for students who will undergo Field Work Practice (PKL) or internships.

Head of the BPJS Employment Branch Office of Plaza BPJamsostek, Ramdani, welcomed this positive collaboration. He emphasized that students who carry out internship or work practice in the field have the same risk as workers in general, so they absolutely need social security protection.

"We really appreciate the concern of the Jakarta III Poltekes, for the safety and well-being of its students. Students who go out for PKL or internships are very vulnerable to the risk of accidents at work. Therefore, their registration into the Non-Wage Recipient (BPU) program is a very appropriate preventive protection step," said Ramdani, in his statement, Tuesday, July 7.

Furthermore, Ramdani explained that social security protection for these internship students is expected to carry out their medical practice or field tasks to the maximum.

As a follow-up to the coordination, the BPJamsostek Plaza team has moved quickly by preparing a digital-based registration system

"Currently, there is a large potential of around 3,000 students of Poltekes Jakarta III who will soon carry out field work practices. We will continue to follow up and provide assistance so that all of these students are comprehensively registered and protected before they start their duties at health facilities and the community," concluded Ramdani.

Through this synergy, it is hoped that more educational institutions will be aware of the importance of Employment Social Security from an early age, as a form of safety net and a tangible manifestation of the state's presence in protecting each of its citizens.
