30 Thousand Kopdes Managers to Be Placed in Early August After Completing Latsarmil
JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono said that around 30 thousand managers of the Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives (Kopdes) will begin to be placed in cooperatives throughout Indonesia starting August 2026, after completing the ongoing series of training.
Ferry said the placement was carried out gradually as the physical construction of the Red and White Kopdes warehouse, outlets, and supporting facilities was completed.
"God willing, in early August they will have completed the training and we will immediately place them in all Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives, which will also coincide with the physical construction of warehouses, outlets, and equipment that have been completed," said Ferry as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 2.
According to him, the managers will be placed according to their respective regions so that they can better understand the characteristics of the region and facilitate the management of cooperatives.
The current candidate for the Red and White Kopdes manager is currently undergoing a state defense training program and a managerial training for prospective cooperative managers.
The program was previously known as the reserve component training (komcad), but the government has changed the scheme after the results of the evaluation following the death of five participants in the training.
The duration of the national martial arts training was cut from one month to two weeks.
On the same occasion, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah said that the prospective managers would then receive cooperative management training prepared by the Ministry of Cooperatives. The training took place on July 17-31, 2026.
The training covers 12 modules, including the philosophy, regulations, and practices of cooperatives, institutions, cooperative governance, operational management, to the digitization of the Red and White Kopdes.
Training is still carried out at education and training centers used for the national defense program, but the curriculum and teaching staff are under the coordination of the Ministry of Cooperatives.
Farida added that at the end of the training, participants will also take a competency test to obtain professional certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) to ensure that the Red and White Kopdes is managed by professional human resources.
According to data from the Red and White Village/Neighborhood Cooperative Information System (Simkopdes) as of July 2, 2026, of the approximately 35 thousand cooperative outlet development points that have been verified, approximately 20 thousand units are currently being built.
Meanwhile, around 14 thousand Kopdes Merah Putih have been completed 100 percent.
