Traffic Accident on Becakayu Toll Road, 8 People Injured

JAKARTA - A series of accidents involving three cars occurred on the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road (Becakayu) KM 07.400 B Line direction Cawang, East Jakarta, Saturday morning, causing eight people to be injured.

Head of Traffic Police, Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Reiki Indra Brata Manggala, said the traffic accident occurred at 10.30 WIB.

"There was a chain accident involving three vehicles on the Becakayu Toll Road. A total of eight injured victims have been evacuated to Harum Kalimalang Hospital for medical treatment," said Reiki as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 20.

Based on the chronological report of the incident from Kainduk 7 Sat PJR Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKP Ade Trisula, the accident began when a white Toyota Altis sedan with the police number B 1342 BES was traveling from Bekasi to Cawang.

Upon arrival at the scene of the crime (TKP) KM 07.400, the driver of the sedan with the initials IGM (30) allegedly drove his vehicle at maximum speed until he lost control.

As a result, the sedan crashed into a white Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle with the police number B 2997 TJB driven by AL (38) and one black Toyota Vellfire unit with the police number B 2457 SMJ.

"The preliminary analysis of officers in the field, the driver of the Altis sedan lost control of his vehicle while driving at high speed, hitting two other vehicles in front of him," said Ade Trisula in his statement.

Police officers from the Traffic Police Unit of the Metro Jaya Police with the toll road management immediately came to the scene to carry out crime scene investigation, manage traffic flow, and evacuate vehicles so as not to cause long traffic jams.

There was no damage to toll infrastructure facilities due to this incident, but the three vehicles involved suffered heavy damage.

Currently, all the evidence of the vehicle and driving permits have been secured and evacuated to the East Jakarta Traffic Accident Unit for further investigation. This traffic accident case is now handled by the East Jakarta Traffic Accident Unit.
