ADB Says Human Resource Development is the Focus of Partnership with RI
JAKARTA - Deputy Country Director for Asian Development Bank (ADB) Resident Mission in Indonesia, Kanya Satyani Sasradipoera, stated that investment in human resources development (HRD) is one of the three focuses of collaboration with Indonesia.
The international financial institution set three partnership strategies with Indonesia for the period 2025-2029, namely increasing economic competitiveness, ensuring resilience and sustainability, and investing in human capital development, one of which is implemented through the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP).
"Together with the government and partners, we are always strengthening higher education and skills development to empower individuals and institutions to continue to support development," said Kanya Satyani Sasradipoera, quoted by Antara.
He said education has a very important role to open individual insights and bring about changes for the community.
Therefore, his party not only collaborates with the Japanese Government to advance infrastructure and economic development in Indonesia and other Asia-Pacific regions, but also through educational scholarship assistance.
"We are very grateful to the Japanese Government for its long-term commitment to always empower generations of scholars and change-makers throughout the region," said Kanya.
He said that the collaboration also reflected the spirit of mutual cooperation - which is an original Indonesian tradition - as the core of every development effort launched by his party.
"This year, in conjunction with ADB's 60th anniversary, we highlight that many of the institution's long-term contributions can be realized thanks to strong and lasting partnerships," said Kanya Satyani Sasradipoera.
The agenda of the "Japan-Funded Scholarship Programs Alumni Gathering for Indonesia" held in Jakarta, Friday evening (19/6), is a continuation of a similar meeting held in Manila, Philippines, and Dhaka, Bangladesh, earlier this year.
The participants of the event include alumni from scholarship programs supported by the Government of Japan through ADB-JSP, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank, as well as representatives from other partners.
