Olivia Rodrigo Reveals Mystical Experience while Filming the Music Video drop dead
JAKARTA - Olivia Rodrigo revealed a mystical experience she had while filming the music video for the opening single from her new album titled "drop dead".
Rodrigo admitted that he felt the presence of a supernatural being when he had to spend the night in the Versailles Palace in France.
The 23-year-old singer bluntly revealed that the atmosphere inside the historic museum was very gripping during the shooting process.
"It was a bit (scary) and a bit creepy. I would say I believe in ghosts, and I think if I were a ghost, I would probably want to haunt the Versailles hall," Rodrigo said while being a guest on the program The Capital Evening Show with Jimmy Hill.
Rodrigo added that the magical aura of the building, which has stood since the 17th century, is very felt, especially when the surrounding conditions start to get quiet. He also believes that historical places like the Palace of Versailles hold many memories of the past that are not visible.
"I really feel there are some spirits there," he added.
The music video for "drop dead" was officially released last April. The visuals feature Olivia Rodrigo walking down the halls of a magnificent palace while playing the guitar.
The selection of this location refers directly to the lyrics in the chorus of the song, which describes the visualization of the Versailles wall.
Rodrigo admitted that he did not initially expect to get permission from the French authorities to use the UNESCO World Heritage site as the location for his music video.
"I can't believe they allowed me to shoot there. It was really incredible. At first it was just like a daydream, thinking 'Oh, it would be cool if one day I could go and visit Versailles,'" said Rodrigo.
For information, "drop dead" is the opener of Olivia Rodrigo's third album pocket titled "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love".
To complement the success of her new album, Olivia Rodrigo has also released two follow-up music videos for her other songs, "The Cure" and "Stupid Song".
