Tugu Insurance Promotes Green Economy through Reforestation and Community Empowerment

JAKARTA - Tugu Insurance has planted tens of thousands of tree seedlings in the Cianjur area, West Java, especially in Pakuon Village and Ciputri Village since 2021.

This year, local people held a harvest festival tradition as a form of gratitude for the results obtained from the sustainable management of forest areas.

The harvest reception held jointly with the forest farmers group and local people became a momentum to see the real results of the reforestation program and sustainable forest management that has been running for the past four years.

Various commodities, such as robusta and arabica coffee and other productive crops cultivated in forest areas, show positive developments and provide economic benefits for farmers.

A number of farmers even said that from the harvest, their income increased up to twice the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR) of the local area.

This activity was carried out in conjunction with the World Environment Day, so that it became a momentum for Tugu Insurance to strengthen its commitment to supporting environmental preservation through sustainable programs and providing real benefits for the community.

As a form of sustainability of support for the program, on the same occasion Tugu Insurance again handed over assistance in the form of 3,000 tree seedlings which will be planted in the Tugu Insurance Adoption Forest area.

The tree seedlings consist of coffee, nutmeg, cloves, and durian seedlings.

This assistance is expected to expand green coverage, increase biodiversity, and strengthen the ecological functions of forest areas for future generations.

"We give the greatest appreciation to the community who have jointly maintained and developed the Tugu Insurance Adoption Forest since 2021," said Tugu Insurance President Director Adi Pramana.

The Tugu Insurance Adoption Forest program is part of the company's social and environmental responsibility initiative commonly referred to as Tugu Service.

Through this program, Bakti Tugu not only focuses on environmental sustainability, but also on improving the welfare of the community.

The success of this program shows that the synergy between companies and communities can produce positive impacts, both for the environment and the local economy.
