No More Leaks and Minimal Lighting, MTsN 1 Kota Bogor Has New Facilities
JAKARTA - The government's efforts to improve the quality of education are not only carried out through strengthening the curriculum and student personnel, but also improving the condition of school buildings.
One of them is through the revitalization of MTsN 1 Kota Bogor, West Java, which is being worked on by the Ministry of Public Works (PU).
Through the Madrasah Fast Best Result Program (PHTC), it is hoped that the revitalization will provide a more comfortable, safe learning environment and support the learning process for students.
Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said that a decent education facility should be one of the important factors in creating a quality learning process.
"A safe and comfortable learning environment has a great influence on the concentration, health, and enthusiasm of students to learn. Through the revitalization of this madrasah, the PU Ministry wants to ensure that Indonesian children can learn in decent and quality spaces," said Dody as quoted from a written statement, Thursday, June 11.
The Bogor City MTsN 1 revitalization project was carried out for 210 days since November 24, 2025 with a work value of Rp. 5.5 billion.
Various parts of the building were repaired in the project. The work includes the construction of new toilets, repairs to the frame and roof cover, renovation of walls, ceilings and floors to the renovation of door frames and windows.
In addition, the installation of electricity and lighting systems was also carried out through the installation of new lights.
The government also equipped the building with the procurement of furniture to support the comfort of teaching and learning activities.
The improvements are expected to be able to overcome various problems that are often found in old school buildings, such as roof leaks, inadequate lighting, and learning space quality that is no longer optimal.
Currently, of the five buildings that have been revitalized, four buildings have been completed and have been used for teaching and learning activities.
Meanwhile, one other building, namely Massa D, is still in the stage of completing interior and toilet works.
The Ministry of PU targets that all work can be completed before the contract expires, so that all new facilities can be fully utilized by students and educators.
The revitalization of MTsN 1 Bogor City is part of the implementation of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7 of 2025 which assigns the PU Ministry to support the development and improvement of educational infrastructure under the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).
Throughout 2025, the Ministry of PU has completed the rehabilitation and renovation of 548 madrasas spread across 26 provinces.
Meanwhile, in 2026, the government is building and revitalizing 856 madrasahs in 27 provinces, consisting of 13 Single Year Contract (SYC) scheme projects and 843 Multi Years Contract (MYC) 2025-2026 projects.
Until now, a total of 44 madrasahs in five provinces have been completed and revitalized.
The program is expected to support the creation of a more decent learning environment while improving the quality of religious education in various regions.
