Prabowo: MBG to People's School is not just a theory

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the current government's priority programs are designed to answer real problems in the community, not just from theoretical or academic debates.

Therefore, the government chose to focus on policies whose impact can be felt directly by the people, ranging from the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), improvement of health services, to the establishment of People's Schools.

According to Prabowo, the MBG program, for example, was born out of the urgent need to improve the nutritional quality of the community.

He reminded that Indonesia still faces a major challenge in the form of high stunting rates and many pregnant women and toddlers who have not received adequate nutrition during the first 1,000 days of life.

"For me, it is difficult to ignore the fact that one in five Indonesian children suffers from stunting due to malnutrition. Or the fact that millions of pregnant women and toddlers still lack nutrients during the most important period of human life," said Prabowo in his statement at The Economist, quoted Thursday, June 11.

The President emphasized that Indonesia does not walk alone in carrying out the nutrition fulfillment program.

According to him, more than 100 countries have implemented nutrition support programs or free nutritious meals in schools in various forms.

Therefore, MBG is a reasonable and necessary step to improve the quality of Indonesian human resources in the future.

In addition to expanding MBG, the government also carries out a number of other programs that are directly oriented towards community needs.

In the health sector, the government has improved the quality of regional hospitals and provided an annual free health check program for all citizens.

Meanwhile, in the field of education, the government launched the largest school revitalization program in Indonesian history and established a boarding school for children from families in need of assistance.

On the economic side, the government formed Danantara to strengthen the management of national assets and increase the added value of Indonesia's economic transformation.

"We are investing for the future of Indonesia. We promise these programs to the people of Indonesia, and we are working hard to make them happen," said Prabowo.

He emphasized that all of these policies are based on the real needs of the community.

"Our decisions and actions are not based on abstract economic theories. Our solutions are based on real efforts to improve people's lives," concluded Prabowo.
