Irene Umar Campus Values Can Develop Creative Economy to Have Real Impact

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Creative Economy (Wamenekraf)/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar assessed that universities can play a role in developing the creative economy so that they can generate real economic and social impacts.

"For me, creative economy is important to be able to create something that has financial value while providing a real impact. The campus can be a sandbox to directly come into contact with real life and lecturers and teachers become mentors for children," said Irene in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.

Irene emphasized the importance of the role of universities as a space for developing creative talent that is ready to meet the needs of the future industry. He also encouraged the strengthening of collaboration between the government, campus, and industry so that the results of creative education can have a direct impact on the region and become a space for the actualization of young creators.

"We must really extract the best creative potential from each individual and work together to face global challenges. It must start from the campus, because the campus is a center of innovation and the birthplace of the purest ideas," said Irene.

"Strengthening creative education based on practice and cross-sector collaboration is an important foundation in building superior human resources," said Irene. Through this approach, young talents are not only able to produce aesthetic works, but also create creative solutions that have economic added value.

Rector of Dian Nuswantoro University, Pulung Nurtantio Andonomengatakan, technological developments have brought people into the era of immersive experience, artificial intelligence, virtual interaction, digital replicas, to new meta ecosystems. The campus introduces the concept of an AI-based digital campus and a virtual ecosystem that presents learning, creativity, interaction, and the experience of lectures in a more lively, interactive, and fun way, which is called UdinusFirst.

Using the Roblok platform, the university created a digital campus in the form of a game-based learning. Pulung gave an example that students could do attendance through the platform, which was connected to real life.

"If students achieve achievements, for example, basketball athletes who become first-place winners at the national level, then the emblem of the champion will be attached to their avatars," said Pulung.

Characters in the platform can become digital portfolios that will be converted into NFTs and stored through blockchain technology.
