Erin denies torturing former ART, claims to have CCTV evidence 14 cameras

JAKARTA - Rien Wartia Trigina alias Erin Taulany finally spoke up regarding the allegations of abuse made by her former house assistant (ART), Herawati.

Accompanied by his lawyer, Sunan Kalijaga, Erin emphasized that he had valid evidence in the form of CCTV footage to break all the allegations.

Erin admitted that he regretted Herawati's statement in the Indonesian House of Representatives, which was considered to have put him in a difficult position. He emphasized that he would not remain silent over what he called a character assassination.

"I have to fight for my good name, it has been damaged, this is character assassination. He podcasts everywhere, appears in the DPR, right?" said Erin Taulany when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 18.

Regarding the allegations of physical violence that went viral, Erin brought a hard disk that was claimed to contain footage of Herawati's activities while working at her house. He said there were 14 camera points that monitored the entire incident.

"Here are all my activities, there are 14 cameras that say I stabbed a knife, that I strangled, that I scratched, that I hit him, everything is here," said Erin.

In fact, Erin also denied the allegations regarding him damaging Herawati's cellphone. He claimed to have an eyewitness who saw the actual incident on location.

"Yes, including the problem with the cellphone. Here there is also evidence that he said I threw it away, here it is. I took it, I held it, and there were witnesses at the maid's house as well, two people," he added.

In line with his client, lawyer Ery Kertanegara considered Herawati's accusations to be excessive. According to him, CCTV footage will show the public and investigators the actual facts.

"This CCTV is very clear. Is it true that there was an incident? Well, it has been explained that there was no incident. Kicking, strangling, scratching, it is very clear in the CCTV, it is very clear there is no," explained Ery.

Sunan Kalijaga also added that Herawati's condition, which appeared healthy when she appeared in the media, was very different from the narrative of torture that was built.

"This is something that has been exaggerated. It will be different when the victim is currently in the hospital, in the ICU, or permanently disabled. In fact, we see him in good health, can interview everywhere. So I think it's a bit exaggerated if this case seems to be very extraordinary," concluded Sunan.
