Pramono Inaugurates Meruya Selatan II Health Center, Serves 100 Patients per Day to Become a Place for Elderly Activities
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the new building of the Meruya Selatan II Sub-Health Center, Kembangan District, West Jakarta. The sub-health center, which serves more than 20 thousand residents, is now not only a place to get treatment, but also a space for elderly activities to children's growth and development areas.
In the midst of the high need for neighborhood-level health services, the Meruya Selatan II Sub-Health Center recorded an average of 80 to 100 patients per day throughout 2025. The facility is one of eight sub-health centers in the Kembangan District.
"This health center serves between 80 and 100 people every day. I saw that almost all the facilities that it has are in very good condition and the average community response appreciates the existing services," said Pramono, Monday, May 18.
Apart from basic health services, Pramono highlighted a number of facilities that are considered different from the usual auxiliary health centers. One of them is the elderly activity area which is used by the elderly to exercise and socialize.
"In fact, for the first time I saw that there were elderly groups, some of whom were up to 83 years old, using this health center as a place to gather as well as a means of exercising and socializing," explained Pramono.
The Meruya Selatan II Sub-Health Center provides a number of services such as Healthy Terrace which combines hydroponic activities, family medicinal plants, and fish cultivation for the elderly. There is also a Glam/Gym for Active Independent Elderly for light physical activity as well as the Moana Area which is focused on the development of children's motor skills.
The DKI Provincial Government also implements the concept of Primary Service Integration (ILP) at the facility. This concept integrates life-cycle-based health services ranging from mothers and children, productive age, to the elderly with a promotional and preventive approach.
"With the inauguration of the Meruya Selatan II Sub-Health Center, hopefully the community's need for health services in Jakarta will be better and can be served as well as possible," he said.
Currently, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has 31 hospitals, 44 health centers, and 292 auxiliary health centers. The provincial government also plans to add two new hospitals to expand the reach of public health services.
"That is what the DKI Jakarta Government is spearheading in providing the best health services for the community," said Pramono.
The Meruya Selatan II Sub-Health Center is supported by 17 health workers consisting of general practitioners, dentists, midwives, nurses, and other supporting personnel to serve four RW in the Meruya Selatan II area.
In addition to strengthening health facilities, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also carrying out a number of other priority programs such as free health checks, community-based mental health services through JakCare, to the digitization of health services through JAKSIMPUS.
On the other hand, the DKI Provincial Government claims that the arrangement of a healthy environment also shows results. The number of slum RW in Jakarta is said to have decreased from 445 RW in 2017 to 211 RW in 2026 or decreased by more than 52 percent. The arrangement of the area is said to be part of efforts to improve the quality of life and health of the people of Jakarta.
