MMS Resources Promotes More Integrated Energy Industry Collaboration at ICEE 2026

JAKARTA - The strengthening of the strategic relationship between Indonesia and China in the energy and mining sectors is the main focus of the Indonesia Coal and Energy Expo (ICEE) 2026 which took place at the Jakarta International Expo, Monday, May 11. Under the theme "Cooperation for New Development in Energy", this forum brings together industry players, associations, governments, to technology providers from both countries to discuss new directions for the energy industry that is increasingly green, efficient, and integrated.

For MMS Resources, the mining subholding from MMSGI participating in ICEE 2026 is a strategic step to strengthen the global network as well as reading the direction of regional energy industry transformation. As a company engaged in integrated mining management and mining supply chain management, MMS Resources sees cross-country collaboration as an important element in maintaining the sustainability of the national energy industry in the midst of global dynamics.

Head of Marketing MMS Resources, Muhamad Saly Putra, said that the current global market conditions actually show the importance of long-term relationships, open communication, and energy supply certainty between Indonesia and China.

"Forums such as ICEE show that the current relationship between Indonesia and China is no longer limited to ordinary trade relations, but has evolved into a strategic partnership in the regional energy supply chain. We see a great need for continuity of supply, reliability, and long-term cooperation from Indonesia," said Saly on the sidelines of ICEE 2026.

According to him, China is still the main partner for Indonesia's coal industry. Based on Kpler data, about 42 percent of Indonesia's coal exports every year are destined for China, with export volumes reaching around 305 million tons in 2025. The magnitude of the trade relationship makes the stability and sustainability of cooperation between the two countries increasingly important, both for the sustainability of Indonesia's energy industry and China's energy supply security.

"Indonesia still has very strong ties with the Chinese market. Therefore, forums such as ICEE are important to strengthen mutual understanding, open up new collaboration opportunities, and build a more sustainable industrial relationship in the future," he continued.

ICEE 2026 also shows how the direction of the Indonesia-China relationship is beginning to move towards broader industrial collaboration. Not only involving mining companies and energy traders, this forum was also attended by Chinese coal associations, logistics associations, representatives of local governments, to mining and energy technology companies from both countries.

For MMS Resources, the involvement of various stakeholders opens up strategic opportunities in the development of a more modern mining industry and is adaptive to global challenges.

"Those present here are not only buyers and sellers, but also industry associations, technology companies, to provincial representatives from China. This opens up a much more strategic discussion space, ranging from the development of mining technology, logistics efficiency, operational digitization, to potential collaboration to support a lower energy industry. emission," said Saly.

In ICEE 2026, the issues of green mining, mining digitization, clean coal technology, new energy integration, to the transformation of low-carbon industries are the main focus of discussion. More than 150 global energy and mining companies participated, including leading technology and heavy equipment companies from China.

Through participation in ICEE 2026, MMS Resources confirms its commitment to continue strengthening its role as an adaptive, long-term oriented mining industry partner, and ready to support the transformation of the Indonesian energy sector towards a more sustainable future. In line with the spirit of MMSGI, MMS Resources believes that strategic collaboration today is an important part of Empowering the Future.
