Vice President: Take Care Of Our Surroundings, COVID-19 Is Starting To Rise Again
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked the entire community to take care of themselves and their surroundings amidst the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 transmission in Indonesia.
The vice president also asked the scholars and leaders of Islamic boarding schools to protect the surrounding community from being infected and infected with COVID-19.
"Let's take care of our surroundings, especially recently that COVID-19 has started to rise again. The ulama and pesantren leaders are to protect themselves and their communities from contagion of COVID-19," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, in the Vocational and Entrepreneurship National Conference at the Cipasung Islamic Boarding School, Tasikmalaya, West Java, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 8.
The Vice President emphasized that people from all walks of life must try to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases by implementing health protocols. If the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia is successfully suppressed and controlled, then community activities can return to normal.
"Therefore, we must try to put pressure on it so that we can return, to be able to do well in all activities," he said.
Meanwhile, data from the COVID-19 Task Force on Tuesday showed the addition of 6,294 new COVID-19 cases, with 5,805 patients declared cured and 189 people dying.
So that the accumulation of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia since March 2020 is 1,869,325 cases, with 1,717,370 people recovering and 51,992 people dying.
To date, 99,963 active cases have been recorded, namely patients undergoing treatment and isolation after being confirmed for COVID-19. In addition, there are 94,682 people who are categorized as COVID-19 suspects.
Provinces that reported the most additional cases on Tuesday were Central Java (1,489 new cases), West Java (1,073 new cases), DKI Jakarta (755 new cases), East Java (389 new cases) and Riau (345 new cases).
