Anies Explains Two Causes Of Online PPDB System Errors
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan revealed two reasons why the New Student Admissions system (PPDB) this year experienced an error. Anies said the first problem was a technical problem.
"We are aware that there is a problem with applying for a registration account due to a technical problem with the application, which, thank God, was completed yesterday afternoon", said Anies at the DKI Education Office, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 8.
The second problem, said Anies, is that this year the DKI Jakarta Education Office will develop the system. Anies claimed that the development carried out could make residents correct PPDB registration data more dynamically.
The problem is, there are consequences from developing the system. Disruption occurs because many users are accessing the system at the same time.
"The problem that arose yesterday is part of the development that is being carried out. An upgrade has been carried out so that the community can fill out registrations, make revisions, but the consequence is that the burden becomes bigger, and thank God it has now been handled properly", said Anies.
Anies ensured that now the public could access and apply for an online PPDB account without any system errors like yesterday. He said this after holding a meeting with the Education Office, Office of Communication, Information and Statistics, Department of Population and Civil Registration, and the President Director of PT Telkom to discuss the disruption of the PPDB system.
"So, there was a problem with the application and data synchronization. But, thank God the disturbance has been resolved, the problem has been solved. Residents can now register an account for PPDB", he said.

Anies said that he monitored 70,000 people who had accessed and registered for the PPDB for the achievement path this morning. An hour later, there were already 150 users. He estimates that the total number of users this afternoon will be 300,000.
"This means that it has worked. So, now more than half have managed to get a registration account", said Anies.
Anies asked residents not to worry about not being able to register for PPDB. This is because the registration period for the PPDB achievement pathway has been extended until June 11. In addition, the DKI Provincial Government has also prepared a PPDB complaint post.
"This is indeed held online, but we have also prepared places for people who have difficulty accessing online. Please come to school, please come to the education office. So, we help residents according to their respective needs", he explained.
