DKI Online PPDB System Errors First, Provincial Government Apologizes Later

JAKARTA - Eva stares at the laptop screen in annoyance. Since Monday, June 7 morning, he has been trying to register his younger brother in the online system for accepting new students (PPDB). The data has been filled in, but the PPDB site has an error when Eva clicks on the account submission column.

This resident of Rorotan, North Jakarta, is worried that his younger brother will not be able to find the school he is going to. Because, only through the achievements of his sister can get the opportunity to study at SMA Negeri 89 East Jakarta. Meanwhile, the zoning path requires him to choose the closest school.

"Since this morning, the system has been down. Meanwhile, I saw that there were already 12 students who were able to register at SMA 89. If the system is still down like this, I'm afraid my sister won't be able to register at the high school she wants," Eva told VOI, Monday, June 7th.

Eva is confused if the system cannot be accessed, the DKI Provincial Government should provide further information about where the system error lies when applying for PPDB registration.

"I'm afraid that the system is in error, or our internet network or what, because there is no further notification," he said.

The head of the DKI New Student Admissions Committee (PPDB), the DKI Education Office, Slamet, admitted that the PPDB system which was opened today was problematic. Slamet explained that this problem occurred because many people were accessing the site at the same time.

"Today, registration has already started, perhaps the information that happened today is indeed the system is too congested, traffic coming in from various directions," said Slamet.

However, Slamet denied that the DKI PPDB server was down, but only slowed down access due to high traffic. "I make sure that today's system continues to work from this morning. We have monitored several and what problems are there. So, once again today's system is not down but is experiencing a slowdown," he said.

Until the afternoon, a notification appeared that the DKI Disdik had temporarily suspended PPDB online on the ppdb.jakarta.go.id website.

"In connection with the optimization of the online PPDB system, account submissions will be temporarily suspended starting from 16.00 to 18.00 WIB," wrote a statement on the official PPDB DKI website.

Until finally, the public relations officer of the DKI Education Agency, Taga Radja Gah, apologized for the error in the DKI Jakarta New Student Admission System (PPDB). Taga admitted that his party had tried as much as possible.

"I apologize, on behalf of the government, on behalf of the Education Office, for the inconvenience of the PPDB service today. Because we are trying our best, but it is not optimal, there are still shortcomings," said Taga.

Taga explained, because many people were unable to access the DKI PPDB Report Value Data Collection System (Sidanira), the DKI Education Office had time to temporarily stop the PPDB registration.

The account submission process will be temporarily suspended on Monday, 7 June 2021 at 16.00-18.00 WIB. Then, the registration time will be extended until June 10 at 14.00 WIB.

"The possibility that will be carried out is a kind of cut off. The data that has been entered will be detained first, held first, until how many hundreds of thousands, until the successful submission of an account. This is an example of one solution," he explained.
