Twitter Will Have Super Followers Feature, Similar To Patreon

JAKARTA - Twitter shared its plans to develop the Super Follow feature. Through this feature, users can collect subscription fees from followers in exchange for additional content compared to the free version.

The leak was shared by Jane Manchun Wong on her personal Twitter. Jane did not forget to mention that the image that was shared was an initial view of the feature that was introduced as Super Follow.

Based on Wong's findings, the Super Follow feature will allow users to have at least 10,000 followers. In addition, there are other requirements to get this feature, such as having shared 25 tweets in the last 30 days and being at least 18 years old.

Wong also found a list of content categories that Super Follow users can choose from to describe the content they create. For example 'Sports' or 'podcast' content.

Not only that, but Wong also added a note that Adult Content and OnlyFans will be included in the Platform Content list. One category with content from Facebook, Patreon, YouTube, Substack, and Twitch.

Twitter itself has not commented on the leak that Wong found. However, if we adjust to the description of the Super Follow feature, it will look similar to Patreon.

Busy Year for Twitter

It's been a busy year for Twitter. Not just one, but the company plans to introduce several payment features on the platform.

In May, the company launched a trial of the Tip Jar feature – which allows users to make payments to a creator's account by clicking the dollar icon on the creator's profile. And on this feature, Twitter does not cut the funds collected at all.

Therefore, even though the Super Follow service and design have been leaked, it is still uncertain regarding the payment scheme used by the company. It's just that, it can be expected that Twitter will take advantage by cutting the donations collected through Super Follow.
