COVID-19 Update As Of June 7: 6.993 New Cases , 1.863.031 Accumulated Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today, Monday, June 7. A total of 64.056 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6.993 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.863.031 people and today's active cases have increased by 1.208 to 99.663 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Monday, June 7.

Today's recovered cases increased by 5.594 cases, bringing the total to 1.711.565 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 191 people and a total of 51.803 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 1.790 cases and a total of 321.551 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 1.451 new cases with a total of 206.683 cases. DKI Jakarta has 1.197 new cases and a total of 436.332 cases. Then, Riau has 313 new cases and a total of 63.458 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today is Central Java with an additional 1.221 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 974 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 841 recovered cases, and Riau with an additional 561 recovered cases.

There are four provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were West Kalimantan, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 17.299.617.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 16.20 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 91.269 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 17.775.918 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 11.197.069 vaccinations for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40.349.049 people.
