Xiaomi's New Gawai Will Have An Earthquake Warning System
JAKARTA - Like Google's feature, a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, Xiaomi is also developing an earthquake early warning system. This notification will be embedded in all new Xiaomi devices to make it easier for users.
Quoted from Gizmochina, this feature has been tested in 25 provinces in China. This service is claimed to be effective for displaying earthquake warning information, in November 2019.
At least more than 35 earthquake alerts recorded by Xiaomi service. Recorded more than 12.64 million warning messages received by its users.
Xiaomi mobile users can not only receive earthquake warning information but can also monitor earthquakes. This feature combines algorithms from artificial intelligence / AI with sensor data in the emergency service.
The company believes the presence of this feature can make the national earthquake monitoring and early warning network more complete. MIUI system users can open the phone manager and click on the earthquake alert function to join earthquake monitoring and become a volunteer.
The earthquake monitoring function was jointly developed by Xiaomi and the Chengdu High-Tech Disaster Mitigation Research Institute. Currently, some Xiaomi or Redmi phones and MIUI systems already support this feature.
