5.503 Red and White Cooperatives in Central Java Start Building Building

SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) has recorded 5,503 Red and White Cooperatives in the region are in the process of building buildings to support their business operations.

Head of the Central Java Provincial Cooperative for Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM), Eddy S. Bramiyanto, said there were 8,523 Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives that had been incorporated.

As reported by ANTARA, Saturday, April 11, out of that amount, there are already 1,456 cooperatives that have completed 100 percent of the construction of their buildings, while 5,503 cooperatives are still in the process of building their buildings.

According to him, the contribution of the Red and White Cooperative to strengthening the economy of village residents has begun to be seen.

He said dozens of cooperatives have been involved in providing kitchen needs for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

In addition, he said, hundreds of others cooperated with Perum Bulog in the Cheap Food Movement program with a transaction value of around Rp9.5 billion.

The Central Java Provincial Government, he said, emphasized that the Red and White Cooperative development model should not be uniform in every region, but should be adjusted to the potential and characteristics of each region.

Meanwhile, the special advisor to the President's Political and Security Affairs, Erwin Chahara Rusmana, said Central Java has great potential in the development of cooperatives, because it is supported by a large number of villages and a strong cooperative tradition.

"Regarding the Red and White Cooperative, the potential in Central Java is large, the tradition of cooperation is also good. The policy of the President is a priority, please collaborate," he said.
