RJ Rismon Sianipar Related to the Allegation of Jokowi's Degree Not Completed
JAKARTA - The submission of restorative justice (RJ) by suspect Rismon Sianipar in the case of alleged allegations of a fake diploma against the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, is still in process and has not reached a final decision.
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Budi Hermanto, emphasized that the RJ mechanism cannot be immediately granted because it must go through a number of stages according to procedures.
"This is still in the process stage. In the restorative justice mechanism, there must be a request from the suspect to the victim or reporter," said Budi at the Polda Metro Jaya, Friday, April 10, 2026.
He explained that after the application was submitted, the decision was entirely in the hands of the reporter or victim. If approved, the process will continue to the stage of the case title, both internally and externally by the investigator.
"If it has been approved and meets the requirements of restorative justice, then RJ will be carried out," he said.
Budi emphasized that, until now, there has been no decision regarding the application submitted by Rismon. The process is still running according to the applicable legal mechanism.
"So we are still waiting because the case process is still ongoing," he said.
