Allegation of Funding Jokowi's Diploma, JK Reports to Bareskrim

JAKARTA - The 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla or JK, has directly visited the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Jakarta, to report the case of alleged defamation and the spread of hoax news.

Based on ANTARA's monitoring, JK arrived at the Bareskrim Polri Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 8, at 11.00 WIB. JK, wearing a light blue shirt, was accompanied by his lawyer, Abdul Haji Talaohu.

When the media crew asked about his arrival, JK said that he wanted to report.

"I want to report," he said briefly as he entered the Bareskrim Building.

Meanwhile, JK's lawyer, Abdul Haji Talaohu, said that the report was filed by JK against digital forensic expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar.

"Yes, Rismon," he said.

Previously, on Monday, April 6, Abdul Haji Talaohu as JK's lawyer went to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police to report Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar in the alleged defamation case against his client who was accused of funding Roy Suryo and friends related to the authenticity of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo's diploma.

Abdul said that JK reported defamation allegations for the accusations of Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar and several names who were allegedly spreading false news through the YouTube platform.

He emphasized that his party considered the report seriously because Rismon's accusation to JK allegedly had handed over Rp5 billion to Roy Suryo's party.

"He made false statements, one of which said that behind the movement questioning Mr. Jokowi's diploma, there were elite officials and there he said Mr. JK gave money to Roy and his friends of Rp. 5 billion and he witnessed it," he said.

The reported article is the defamation article, namely Article 439 jo. Article 441 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the new Criminal Code as well as Article 27A jo. Article 45 of the ITE Law.
