Prabowo invites Japanese entrepreneurs to invest in Indonesia: Our philosophy is a thousand friends too little

TOKYO - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, invited Japanese entrepreneurs to expand investment in Indonesia in the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum held in Tokyo, Monday (30/3).

During the forum, Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia is a country that is very open to global economic cooperation and is committed to maintaining the stability of international relations.

According to him, Indonesia's position on the global stage is based on the principle of inclusive diplomacy and openness to all parties.

"Indonesia, as you know, is a country that is open to the world. Geographically and historically, Indonesia is an open economy. We depend on trade and close economic partnerships. Therefore, our foreign policy has always been non-bloc," said Prabowo.

On the same occasion, he explained that the principle has become the main foundation of Indonesia in maintaining good relations with various countries, including Japan which has been one of the important economic partners.

"Our philosophy is: a thousand friends are still too few, one enemy is too many," he continued.

He also emphasized that this approach places Indonesia in a stable position in the midst of increasingly complex global geopolitical dynamics. This is Indonesia's advantage.

"Indonesia is in a comfortable position because we have no enemies," he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo emphasized that the Indonesian government continues to strive to carry out reforms to create a more conducive investment climate.

The government is also committed to strengthening governance, upholding the rule of law, and encouraging economic transformation through industrialization and increasing the added value of natural resources.

In addition, Indonesia is accelerating the development of renewable energy, electric vehicles, as well as various manufacturing sectors and digital economy which are considered to have great potential to be developed together with international partners.

Through these various steps, he hopes that the economic partnership between Indonesia and Japan can be further strengthened and provide benefits for both countries. He also invites Japanese entrepreneurs to participate in various investment opportunities available in Indonesia.

"We are not only offering opportunities, but also real partnerships," he concluded.
