PM Anwar Ibrahim Arrives in Jakarta to Meet Prabowo
JAKARTA - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Jakarta on Friday afternoon to meet with President Prabowo Subianto, to discuss the conflict in the Middle East.
Anwar's arrival was greeted by Foreign Minister Sugiono.
"Welcome to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, to hold a meeting with my friend, President Prabowo Subianto," Anwar said in a statement quoted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Friday, March 27, reported by ANTARA.
Anwar Ibrahim said that the meeting with Prabowo would be fully utilized to discuss the development of the increasingly acute West Asian conflict, as well as its implications for regional stability and the global economy, including its impact on Malaysia and Indonesia.
Previously reported, Anwar Ibrahim will meet with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Friday (27/3), to discuss the current geopolitical conditions.
"Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim will make a special visit to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, on March 27, 2026, at the invitation of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto," said the Malaysian Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) in Kuala Lumpur, Thursday.
Wisma Putra said the visit would focus on current geopolitical developments, especially the conflict in the Middle East, and its impact on regional stability and the global economy, including its implications for Malaysia and Indonesia.
