After the Lebaran Holiday, the Rupiah is Expected to Weaken in the Midst of Risk-Off Sentiments

JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate in Wednesday, March 25, 2026 trading is expected to weaken against the US dollar.

To note, quoting Bloomberg, on Tuesday, March 24, the spot rupiah exchange rate closed up 0.58 percent to Rp16,898 per US dollar.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor) exchange rate of the Bank Indonesia (BI) in the last trading before the Lebaran holiday, Tuesday, March 17, closed up 0.04 percent to the price level of Rp16,982 per US dollar.

Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong, predicts that the rupiah exchange rate will weaken against the US dollar.

He added that despite hopes for de-escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, following reports that the United States had given Iran a plan to end the conflict, market sentiment in general was still in a risk-off condition.

"The rupiah is expected to weaken against the US dollar. Although there is hope for de-escalation in the team, responding to reports that the US has given Iran a plan that could end the conflict. However, the general sentiment is still risk off," he told VOI, Wednesday, March 25.

According to him, investors are not yet fully convinced and are still monitoring the development of the situation.

Lukman estimates that the movement of the rupiah on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 will be in the range of Rp16,850-Rp16,950 per US dollar.
