Eid Moment 2026, Prabowo Calls Erdoğan to Mohammed bin Salman

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto held an Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah or Lebaran 2026 meeting with a number of Muslim leaders through telephone calls. Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, conveyed that the communication was carried out in order to strengthen relations between countries at the Lebaran moment.

"In the days of this Eid atmosphere, President Prabowo carried out a meeting through telephone calls with Muslim leaders," said the Presidential Secretariat, Teddy, in a written statement, Monday, March 23.

A number of heads of state who have been contacted by President Prabowo, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Saudi Arabia's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

According to Teddy, President Prabowo is also scheduled to continue communicating with a number of other heads of state in the near future, pending confirmation from each party. "Several other heads of state will also be contacted in the near future," he said.

Teddy explained that the Eid al-Fitr gathering was not only an annual tradition, but also had strategic significance in strengthening Indonesia's international relations, especially with Muslim countries.

"This meeting is a manifestation of the close brotherhood and cooperation between Muslim countries, as well as strengthening bilateral relations in a climate of blessing," he added.

This momentum also confirms Indonesia's role as a country with the largest Muslim population in the world that actively bridges global unity and cooperation.
