Pakistan rejects Afghanistan's claim of attack on drug rehabilitation center
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan denied claims by Afghan authorities about an attack on a drug rehabilitation center in the country.
"The Pakistani attack was carried out precisely and carefully planned to minimize additional damage," Pakistan said in a statement quoted by Sputnik, Tuesday, March 17.
"This distortion of facts, which is presented as an attack on a drug rehabilitation center, aims to trigger tension and conceal illegal support for cross-border terrorism," they added.
The precision strikes, they said, were carried out against military targets and terrorist support infrastructure, including warehouses containing technical equipment and ammunition belonging to the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij in Kabul and Nangarhar, which have been used against Pakistani civilians.
"The explosion of ammunition stored and used by the main terrorist perpetrators also completely refutes this false claim," the statement added.
On Monday evening, TOLOnews plus reported explosions and gunfire were heard in various parts of Kabul.
Spokesperson for the supreme leader of Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, said Pakistan had attacked a rehabilitation center in the capital, resulting in deaths and injuries. He promised that the action would not be left alone.
Meanwhile, the deputy spokesman for the Afghan supreme leader, Hamdullah Fitrat, said the number of casualties from Pakistan's attacks on Afghanistan had reached 400, with another 250 injured.
