BUMN Karya Restructuring Almost Complete, Dony: After This, It Will Enter the Consolidation Phase
JAKARTA - The head of BP BUMN and CEO of Danantara Asset Management Dony Oskaria confirmed that the restructuring process of BUMN Karya is currently nearing its final stage.
Dony said that the restructuring was the first step before BUMN Karya entered the consolidation phase with a focus on three main core businesses, namely building construction (building), infrastructure, and engineering procurement and construction (EPC).
"They (BUMN Karya) are currently restructuring, it is almost final. We have also done impairment on the book's bolong-bolong. Then we restructure the debt. After this they will enter the consolidation phase," Dony told reporters, writing Tuesday, March 17.
Dony explained that the restructuring process began with fundamental improvements to the company, especially through financial statement adjustments or impairments, as well as restructuring the company's debt structure.
After the stage is completed, continued Dony, BUMN Karya will enter the consolidation phase which is carried out based on the respective competencies of each company. This consolidation will group BUMN into three main business lines that have been determined.
"This consolidation phase that I just said, we will see the fit. We will only enter later into three large groups in each. There are those in infrastructure, there are those in buildings and buildings, there are those in EPC," said Dony.
Dony is optimistic that the restructuring and consolidation steps will strengthen the performance of BUMN Karya in the future, both in terms of financial health and corporate governance.
"Hopefully this year we will have SOEs that will be healthy and especially the governance we hope will be better," he said.
