There is a Gundam Robot at the Banjar Homecoming Post, Residents Can Rest While Taking Photos

JAKARTA - The homecoming service post is usually synonymous with a simple tent and officers on duty to help travelers. However, in Banjar, there is a homecoming post that looks different and attracts public attention, namely the presence of a Gundam robot replica.

In the Banjar City Square area, a replica of the Gundam robot stands at the integrated post area so that it becomes a unique spot for travelers who want to rest and take photos. The presence of the giant robot makes the atmosphere of the homecoming post feel more relaxed and friendly, especially for families who travel far during Eid.

This innovation was presented by the Banjar Police during the implementation of the 2026 Ketupat Lodaya Operation. This integrated post is designed not only as a place of security service, but also as a comfortable resting place for travelers.

Banjar Police Chief Didi Dewantoro explained that the thematic concept was deliberately created so that the community felt closer to the police presence.

"Actually, this robot is only to attract people around the integrated post, so that the impression of the police post is not scary," said Didi Dewantoro as quoted by ANTARA.

He said the Gundam robot replica was installed in the integrated post area to be an attraction for visitors, especially children. Many travelers stop to rest while capturing the moment by taking photos around the robot.

Not only that, the police also plan to add another attraction by presenting a replica of the Bumblebee robot so that the atmosphere at the service post is more lively.

"So the children are also here, mingling with us, taking selfies with robots," he said.

According to Didi, this approach is part of an effort to provide more humane services during the Lebaran homecoming rush. With a more relaxed atmosphere, the public is expected to feel comfortable when stopping at the police service post.

In addition to presenting robots as an attraction, the integrated post is also equipped with various entertainment activities for travelers. Officers provide activities to watch together and acoustic music performances after tarawih prayers to entertain travelers who rest after a long journey.

"We are ready to prepare activities such as watching together, then later after tarawih prayers there will be an acoustic band to entertain travelers who may be tired during the journey," said Didi.

He added that these facilities are expected to provide a more comfortable atmosphere for travelers who cross the Banjar City area. This post is also an important stopping point for drivers heading to the Pangandaran tourist area or continuing their journey to Central Java.

Apart from entertainment, this integrated post also provides various services for the community, ranging from health checks, traffic condition information through CCTV monitoring by Transportation Service officers, to resting places. Travelers can also enjoy free massage services and a children's play area prepared at the location.

Through a concept of more friendly and creative services, the presence of this thematic homecoming post is expected to help travelers rest for a moment before continuing their journey to their hometowns.
