Industrial Certification Process Accelerated to 28 Days, This is the Goal
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has accelerated industrial certification services as part of efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of national industries while protecting the domestic market from the entry of low-quality imported products.
Previously, the time for industrial certification services was set for 41 working days, now it has been accelerated to 28 working days.
Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that 2026 is an important momentum for the government to solve various challenges in the industrial sector.
"In 2026, the Ministry of Industry focuses on solving various industrial sector challenges while strengthening the role of the manufacturing industry as the main driver of national economic growth," said Agus as quoted from a written statement, Friday, March 13.
The strategic steps taken are to strengthen the implementation of mandatory standards and accelerate the industrial certification process.
The effort is considered important to ensure that products circulating in the domestic market meet the quality, safety and quality standards set by the government.
"With the service system becoming faster and more effective, it is hoped that the competitiveness of the national industry can increase significantly," he said.
The Head of the Standardization and Industrial Services Policy Agency (BSKJI) of the Ministry of Industry, Emmy Suryandari, stated that it was important to have a common perspective across all technical implementing units (UPT) under the BSKJI in supporting the development of the national industry.
"We encourage BSKJI and all its subsidiaries to have the same perspective, namely to support the development of the domestic industry through the strengthening of the industrial service ecosystem," he explained.
According to Emmy, strengthening the role of the standardization and industrial service bureau is an important factor in creating an industrial service ecosystem that is increasingly responsive to business needs.
Therefore, the diversification of the hall's services is also being encouraged so that it can provide wider support for the industrial sector.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Jakarta Standardization and Industrial Service Center (BSPJI) Fathullah said that his party continued to improve the quality of services to the industrial sector, especially in accelerating the certification process.
"We are trying to accelerate the Minimum Service Standard (SPM) for technical certification services. If previously the service time was set for 41 working days, we have now managed to accelerate it to 28 working days. In addition, improving employee competence is also a priority so that services are provided more professionally and responsive to industry needs," he said.
Fathullah added that his party would also strengthen cooperation with UPT under BSKJI to meet various industrial service needs more comprehensively.
"In the future, the strengthening of standardization and certification services will continue to be carried out to ensure that the domestic industry is able to grow healthy, competitive, and protected from imported products that do not meet quality standards," he added.
