Richard Lee Officially Detained, This is the Chronology of the Case

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya finally officially detained Doctor Richard Lee (DRL) on Friday, March 6 evening. This detention is a firm action by investigators after the suspect was considered uncooperative and hindered the investigation process related to the alleged case of consumer protection violations reported by artist Kartika Putri.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, explained that the decision to detain was taken after a series of actions taken by the suspect.

"First, the suspect did not attend the additional examination on March 3, 2026 without giving a clear explanation. In fact, on that day, the suspect 'live' on the Tiktok account. Second, the suspect also failed to report on Monday, February 23, 2026 and Thursday, March 5, 2026 without a clear reason," explained Budi Hermanto.

December 2024 - Police Report Created Artist Kartika Putri reported Richard Lee to the Polda Metro Jaya for alleged violations related to product standards and consumer protection in the field of beauty care. The report was registered with number LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya.

December 15, 2025 - Determination of the Suspect After going through the investigation process and collecting evidence, investigators named Richard Lee as a suspect. He was charged with articles in Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health and Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection.

February 23 and March 5, 2026 - Failure to Report Obligation In the ongoing investigation process, the suspect was recorded as failing to fulfill the obligation to report without giving a clear reason to the investigator.

March 3, 2026 - Additional Examination Investigators again scheduled an additional examination. However, the suspect was not present. On the same day, investigators found live streaming activities on social media carried out by the suspect.

March 6, 2026 - Intensive Examination Richard Lee finally answered the call of investigators and underwent an examination for about four hours. Investigators asked 29 questions to investigate the case.

March 6, 2026 Night - Detention After the examination and the results of the health check were declared normal, the investigators decided to detain Richard Lee at the Polda Metro Jaya detention house.
