Iranian Foreign Minister: Russia-China continue to provide political support for Tehran
JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Russia and China continue to support Iran politically amid US and Israeli military operations in the Middle East.
"They support us politically, and in other ways," Araghchi told NBC in response to a question.
He declined to discuss in detail Iran's cooperation with other countries.
"I will not give details of our cooperation with other countries, right in the middle of the war," Araghchi said.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched an attack on many targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and casualties among civilians.
The attack killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran then responded by attacking Israeli territory and a number of US military bases throughout the Middle East region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Khamenei's assassination cynically violated all norms of human morality and international law.
The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the US and Israeli attacks, and called on them to immediately de-escalate and stop hostilities.
