All England 2026: Mixed Doubles Already Have One Quarterfinal Ticket

JAKARTA - The Indonesian mixed doubles sector is certain to have one ticket to the 2026 All England quarterfinal after Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu and Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah compactly passed the first round.

Amri/Nita first secured the second round ticket for the BWF Super 1000-level event after eliminating Marvin Seidel/Thuc Phuong Nguyen (Germany) in two straight games 21-17 and 21-14 on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

"Alhamdulillah bisa main di All England pertama kali dan bisa menang. Bisa mengeluarkan apa yang dilatih di pertandingan ini. Sangat senang," ujar Amri dalam keterangan setelah pertandingan.

Jafar/Felisha then followed Amri/Nita's move so that the two pairs were also confirmed to meet in the second round of the tournament. The clash automatically ensured that one of the eight tickets for the mixed doubles was in hand.

The two-game match was also passed by Jafar/Felisha. The pair marked their debut in the tournament by stopping Gao Jia Xuan/Wu Meng Ying from China with a final score of 24-22 and 21-13.

"Unfortunately, because the draw changed, we had to meet our own friends in the second round. If it's like the initial draw, maybe we can both qualify and advance further. If tomorrow, one of them must lose," said Felisha.

Before the second mixed doubles victory, Indonesia first lost the men's doubles Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

The seventh seeded pair took their bags from Birmingham after losing two straight games 12-21 and 12-21 against the unseeded pair of Christo Popov and Toma Junior Popov from France.
