Pramono Anung invites residents to spend Eid al-Fitr holidays in Jakarta
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo invites all people to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah by not going home or going home, but spending the holidays in Jakarta.
"This Eid al-Fitr, we have taken the theme of Traveling to Jakarta. We invite everyone to have fun in Jakarta," said Pramono in Jakarta, Sunday.
Pramono explained, for those who do not go home, the DKI Provincial Government has prepared a number of special programs that make it easier for people to spend the holidays, for example, discount or discount programs for residents who shop at shopping centers during H-1 or H-2 Eid.
"We will give discounts ranging from 50 percent to 70 percent later at shopping centers for Jakarta residents," he said.
The DKI Provincial Government also provides free transportation for Transjakarta, Mikrotrans, MRT, and LRT Jakarta to make it easier for people to access all entertainment or shopping destinations in Jakarta.
"Residents can take advantage of the Eid holiday to walk around with public transportation for free," he said.
His party will also try to provide discounts for residents staying in Jakarta during the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Fitr celebration by providing special discounts for hotels in Jakarta.
According to him, Jakarta residents can communicate with their families in their hometowns using smart phones through video calls.
He added that the current technological advances must be used as optimally as possible, especially to establish ties of brotherhood with families in their hometowns.
"Residents can video call with their families all day," he said.
Pram assessed that if people remain in Jakarta on Eid al-Fitr, people's savings will not run out because of homecoming.
The community is not tired of having to travel tens to hundreds of kilometers to their hometowns.
"Traveling using cars and motorcycles is certainly tiring and also drains savings," he said.
However, the DKI Provincial Government has also facilitated residents who want to return home through the Free Homecoming program for 26,500 people who want to return home for the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Fitr celebration.
"For those who want to go home are welcome and if they do not go home, then we provide these facilities," he said.
