Cartenz Task Force Hands Natan Matuan KKB to Wamena District Court
JAKARTA - The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force handed over Natan Matuan, a member of the KKB who was involved in a number of cases of violence in Yahukim Regency, to the Wamena District Attorney's Office.
Kaops Damai Cartenz Brigjen Faizal Rahmadani said the surrender of the suspect Natan Matuan was carried out after investigators at the Wamena District Court stated that the file was complete.
Before being handed over to the prosecutor's office, the suspect Natan was first flown to Wamena with tight escort.
KKB Natan Matuan is suspected of violating Article 2 Paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 regarding the alleged possession of sharp weapons which occurred in December 2025 in Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency.
Even though it has been handed over to the prosecutor's office, the team continues to develop the case to explore the possibility of links to other networks and activities that could potentially disrupt security.
"The Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force will take firm action against any criminal acts that lead to separatist efforts and threaten the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," said Brigadier General Faizal as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 26.
According to him, the action against the KKB is part of the state's commitment to provide protection to the community as well as maintain public security and order (kamtibmas).
"Law enforcement against armed criminal groups is a form of state presence in maintaining public safety and is carried out firmly and measuredly, but still within the framework of legality and accountability," said Brigadier General Faizal.
