Prabowo Receives Chelsea Jersey Signed by Reece James from Boehly
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto received a blue Chelsea football club jersey or uniform signed by team captain Reece James from Todd L. Boehly in Washington DC, United States, Friday (20/2).
Boehly is the CEO of Eldridge Industries, which also owns English Premier League club Chelsea and Los Angeles Lakers basketball club.
The jersey has the number 24 and the name James written on it. Prabowo and Boehly took a photo with the jersey, accompanied by the Minister of Investment and Industrialization who is also the CEO of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani.
The jersey was given on the sidelines of President Prabowo's meeting with 12 global investment entrepreneurs in Washington DC.
After the meeting, Rosan revealed that Boehly had promised to bring the Chelsea club and the Los Angeles Lakers basketball club to Indonesia to hold matches.
"One of them is that there is a majority owner of Chelsea, Lakers, and also the Dodgers. And he promised to bring the Chelsea and Lakers clubs to Indonesia for yes cooperation and to do the match," said Rosan.
In addition to Boehly, other entrepreneurs who met Prabowo were Armen Panossian, CEO of Oaktree and owner of the Italian club Inter Milan; Matt Harris from BlackRock Founding Partners and Global Infrastructure Partners; Martin Escobari, Co-President and Head of Global Growth Equity General Atlantic; Al Rabil, CEO of Kayne Anderson;

Brown, Managing Director Global Institute Infrastructure KKR; Michael Weinberg, Chairperson of the Investment Committee Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP); Justin Metz, Managing Partner Related Fund Management (RFM); Luke Taylor, Co-President Stonepeak; Nabil Mallick, COO Thrive Capital; Jeffrey Perlman, CEO Warburg Pincus; and Seth Bernstein from Bernstein Equity Partners.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that in the meeting, President Prabowo emphasized the government's commitment to creating a conducive investment climate and opening up mutually beneficial collaboration spaces.
"President Prabowo opens the widest possible investment opportunities to build as many economic chains and employment opportunities that benefit the interests of the country in Indonesia," he said.
This meeting in Washington DC also confirms that Indonesia is entering a new phase as a confident, stable country, and ready to become a new growth center of the world.
