Prabowo Appoints New BPJS Health Director, DPR Requests Service Improvements and Strengthening Transparency
Member of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Arzeti Bilbina, hopes that the new President of BPJS Health, Prihati Pujowaskito, appointed by President Prabowo Subianto, will dare to improve and improve the national health insurance service. According to him, with millions of participants and the complexity of national health services, a firm, visionary, and people-oriented leadership is needed.
"Leading an institution as large as BPJS Kesehatan is not easy, but I am confident and optimistic that Mr. Pujowaskito is qualified to carry out that trust," Arzeti told reporters, Friday, February 20.
"He must have the courage to carry out a thorough reform, especially in terms of services, financial transparency, and strengthening the digital system," he continued.
Arzeti emphasized that Commission IX of the DPR RI will continue to provide support and supervision so that BPJS Kesehatan will be more professional and responsive to community needs.
"I fully support the strategic steps that will be taken by the new CEO. However, this support is certainly accompanied by the hope that there will be an acceleration in service improvements. Complaints about long queues, delays in hospital claims, to access obstacles in remote areas must be a priority for improvement," he said.
Arzeti also encouraged BPJS Kesehatan to strengthen synergy with health facilities, both government and private, so that the quality of services is more even.
"BPJS Kesehatan must be more transparent, accountable, and adaptive to technological developments. Digital transformation must really make it easier for participants, not add to the complexity. Periodic evaluation is also important so that every policy is targeted," he said.
Under the new leadership, Arzeti believes that BPJS Kesehatan can strengthen governance and increase public confidence.
"My hope is simple: BPJS Kesehatan must be present as a solution, not a source of complaints. If leadership is run with integrity, courage, and commitment to public service, I believe BPJS Kesehatan will become more advanced and stronger," he concluded.
