NASA Prepares Second Clean Gladi for the Artemis II Mission on February 19

NASA will hold the next test for the Artemis II mission. This test, which includes the second refueling and countdown, will be held on Thursday, February 19.

Through this trial, NASA wants to ensure that all their preparations are mature. This test was also carried out after the NASA technical team managed to fix the hydrogen flow problem in the previous test.

Engineers have replaced filters on ground support equipment to ensure the fuel flow runs smoothly. Currently, the system is in the process of restoring environmental conditions to be ready for extreme temperatures of cryogenic propellants.

This clean glady will test the entire launch operations sequence, including loading fuel into the SLS rocket tank. The team will also train countdown and tank draining procedures to simulate post-operation cleaning.

The astronauts were not included during the training. However, they will still be trained to perform Orion spacecraft door closing operations. They will undergo a detailed countdown to face various scenarios in the field.

This simulation is very important to train the team's ability to 'recycle' the countdown clock if there are weather constraints. This process will stop in the last seconds before launch to ensure all safety systems are functioning.

Until now, NASA has not set a launch date for Artemis II. However, the US space agency estimates that March 6 is the earliest launch opportunity if all the data from the clean-up test is declared successful.
