Minister of Home Affairs RB Rini: The construction of IKN is not just to present a new government center
JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Rini Widyantini said that the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in parts of North Penajam Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, spurred young bureaucracy to redesign the way of working.
"The construction of IKN is not merely to present a new center of government," said Rini as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, February 15.
IKN, he continued, builds the next generation and not just moving the center of government.
"The new capital also designs a new way for the country to work, a new way of working for bureaucracy, a new way of serving the public, and a new way of making decisions," he said after giving a public lecture at IKN to the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) who had served at IKN.
"All of this can only be built when employees instill integrity and good work culture," he said.
As the future capital of Indonesia, continued Rini Widyantini, IKN is projected to become an example of a new bureaucratic model for future generations.
Public lectures are a moral reinforcement for ASN who have served at IKN, said the Secretary of the Nusantara Capital Authority, Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto. The moral reinforcement is aimed at ASN to continue to maintain the spirit of public service.
IKN is expected to become a laboratory for the transformation of the Indonesian bureaucracy, the birthplace of government governance that is integrated, collaborative, and digital-based.
The best practices of the future bureaucracy are expected to grow in IKN and become an inspiration for other regions to provide increasingly quality public services for all Indonesian people.
"From the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, RB, we get the strength to continue to work together and collaborate across ministries and agencies," said Bimo.
"The new capital of Indonesia must be with a new work culture, as well as the attention and support of ministries and agencies will be energy for all employees who serve in IKN," said Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto.
