"The emergency handling of the impact of the breached embankment disaster involves all elements, from the TNI, Polri, BPBD, to the local community. The provisional data recorded five houses were severely damaged and seven houses were moderately damaged. A total of 310 households or approximately 660 people were affected," he said as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 12.

He explained that as many as 18 residents had been evacuated as a precautionary measure, consisting of two elderly people, one toddler, one disabled person, and 14 other residents.

"A total of 18 residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure, especially vulnerable groups such as the elderly, toddlers, and people with disabilities," he said.

BPBD together with the elements of the sub-district government, village government, Saung Sandiwara, MAPASI Post, and Majalaya Police, carried out handling at the affected location.

Based on Thursday morning's update, the water was reported to have receded and the main road access was able to be passed and the electricity in the affected area was back on.

However, officers still found mud that was flooding the road and a pile of debris carried away by the current.

"The water conditions have receded, but we still need heavy equipment and garbage trucks to accelerate the cleaning of mud and flood debris," he said.

BPBD also noted urgent needs in the field, including ready-to-eat food, clean water, medicines, toiletries, and equipment for infants and the elderly.

He added that further data collection was carried out in the morning in conjunction with volunteer work to clean the affected area with stakeholders and local communities.
