Waka DPR asks the police to investigate the case of child molestation by his uncle and grandfather himself

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sari Yuliati asked the South Jakarta Metro Police to investigate the case of child molestation by an uncle and his own grandfather.

"We certainly encourage law enforcement officials to be able to immediately complete the alleged case of sexual abuse of minors by their own uncles and grandfathers," Sari Yuliati told reporters, Wednesday, February 11.

The General Treasurer of the Golkar Party emphasized that the case must not be resolved through kinship, although there had previously been a meeting between the two parties to listen to the confession and apology from the perpetrators.

"In the process, there should be no peaceful or family-like path as in Article 82 of Law Number 20 of 2025 concerning the Criminal Procedure Code, so it needs to be investigated so that there is a deterrent effect for the perpetrators and anyone who thinks of doing it," said Sari.

Previously, this case was revealed after a mother, Caca Ambarwati, reported a case of abuse against a child (N) committed by his uncle and grandfather in the Curhat Bang podcast with Denny Sumargo. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered trauma and even had to drop out of school.
