Five Employees Claim to Have Been Kidnapped in a Warehouse of a Goods Delivery Service in Tanjung Priok

JAKARTA - Five workers are suspected of being kidnapped inside a goods delivery service warehouse in the Papanggo area, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

However, after the crime scene was checked by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police, the alleged kidnapping was not proven. The reason is that the warehouse is not locked and can be opened at any time.

The Tanjung Priok Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Handam Samudro, denied the kidnapping of the employee.

"It's not in the cabin. Our people entered an open room. It's not locked. It's just being monitored at the introgration with security," said AKP Handam when confirmed by VOI, February 9, 2026.

Furthermore, AKP Handam explained that the incident occurred due to the alleged embezzlement of consumer goods by an individual driver who was suspected of working with the warehouse employee of the shipping service.

"Because the place of work compensates the consumer, the place of work asks for accountability to these delivery service employees," he said.

The incident was revealed after one of the employee's families contacted a law firm for help. Then continued to report to the 110 Polri call center.

The complaint was responded to quickly by personnel from the Tanjung Priok Police Criminal Investigation Unit who immediately went to the location according to the report.

"There was communication between the place where he worked and the employee, and they agreed to take the family path where the parties did not make a police report officially," he said.

Meanwhile, the kidnapping and alleged embezzlement cases are still being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police.

"This is still waiting for confirmation from the place where the employee works, because we want to take his statement, we can't," he said.
