Police Call Surabaya Mayor Armuji and East Java DPRD Chairman Musyafak in Connection with Corruption Case

SURABAYA - Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Surabaya Police AKBP Edy Herwiyanto confirmed the summoning of Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji together with East Java DPRD Chairman Musyafak Rouf to be examined as a witness in the case of alleged corruption (tipikor) technical guidance (bimtek) 2011.

"Today two people were called, namely brothers Armuji and Musyafak," said AKBP Edy in Surabaya, Thursday, February 5, reported by ANTARA.

He explained that the examination was carried out to dig out the testimony of witnesses related to the alleged tipikor in the technical guidance (bimtek) activities which took place in 2011.

In addition, he emphasized that the summons against Armuji and Musyafak was made in the capacity as a witness, so the investigators will still call other parties who are considered involved in the case.

"We are summoning witnesses so that Brother Armuji was summoned as a witness, including Brother Musyafak," he said.

Not only that, he said investigators had examined more than 20 witnesses and seized a number of documents related to the implementation of the workshop.

AKBP Edy added that investigators would also immediately schedule a case title to determine the determination of suspects after the series of witness examinations was considered sufficient.

"Of course, we will also immediately carry out the trial to determine the suspect," he said.

He also ensured that there was no change in the schedule in the handling of the case, because Armuji had previously undergone an examination and now an additional examination was carried out.

However, according to him, investigators are still waiting for the examination of other witnesses, including a number of parties who are said to be related to the bimtek activities and some of them are still serving as board members until now.

"In detail we don't know, but there are several people who are currently still members of the board, and of course all those involved will be called," he said.
