File of the Case of the Allegation of False Degree of Jokowi Returned by the Prosecutor's Office to the Metro Jaya Police

JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto explained that the case file for the alleged fake diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) with two cluster suspects, namely Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar and Tifauzia Tyassuma, was returned by the Prosecutor's Office.

"Yesterday on Monday (2 February) we have 'updated'. So, the case file of the two cluster suspects Roy Suryo et al has been sent to the Prosecutor's Office but there has been a return," said Budi Hermanto at the Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Budi said the return of the file was noted to conduct in-depth research related to expert witnesses.

"So this is a step by the investigators who have investigated because there is a response from the Prosecutor's Office for us to investigate further. We wait for the investigators to still work in the process of deepening witnesses and expert witnesses," he said.

Regarding whether there will be new witnesses to be presented, he said, he would still conduct an in-depth investigation, especially the old witnesses.

"We are also waiting for when the suspect submits a witness, we will definitely conduct this investigation in public so that all people receive the same treatment in the eyes of the law," said Budi.

Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya had examined a number of witnesses submitted by Roy Suryo Cs.

Polda Metro Jaya emphasized that there was no selectivity in handling this case. According to Budi, if there is a statement of selectivity, from a group of people, Budi emphasizes that it is not true.

"Those are people who say they don't understand the mechanism of the intact path," said Budi.

Budi said this after responding to the Letter of Order to Stop Investigation (SP3) by the Polda Metro Jaya against two suspects in the case of a fake Jokowi diploma, namely Egi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis.

"This is based on the agreement of the two principals, where the two suspects have applied for restorative justice. Well, this restorative justice is submitted to the reporter," he said.
