Psychology Test Results: The Murderer of Mother in Mataram Acts Consciously
MATARAM - A psychologist from the University of Mataram (Unram), West Nusa Tenggara, stated that the mental condition of the perpetrator of the murder of the biological mother with the initials BP (33) was normal and did not suffer from mental disorders.
"So, the leak is from the results of a psychological examination, he is normal," said Head of Sub-Directorate III of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the NTB Police, AKBP Catur Erwin Setiawan, in Mataram, Antara, Monday, February 2.
The psychiatric examination of BP was carried out by Unram psychologist Pujiarrohman, who was also recorded as a psychologist expert in the investigation of the death of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi.
"Why do we use Mr. Puji from Unram? Let's make his position more independent," said Catur.
According to him, psychological examination is an important part of the investigation considering that the perpetrator's actions are considered to be beyond common sense.
"This is beyond human logic. We need to know whether the person concerned is sick or has a mental disorder, or whether he or she is doing it consciously," said Catur.
With the results of the psychiatric test, the investigation into BP, who has been named a suspect, is confirmed to continue.
Regarding the results of the urine test which stated that the perpetrator was positive for containing chemical compounds from the cannabis plant, Catur said that the findings had been handed over to the NTB Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate for follow-up.
"For narcotics, we have handed it over to the Narcotics Directorate," he said.
Previously, the police revealed the motive for BP to kill and burn the body of his biological mother with the initials YRA (60) because he was heartbroken for not being given Rp39 million to pay off his debts.
The perpetrator killed the victim while sleeping by strangling his neck with a rope at their house in the East Monjok area, Mataram City, early Sunday (25/1).
After that, in the morning, the perpetrator took the victim's body to Sekotong area, West Lombok Regency. YRA's body was then thrown on the side of the road in Batu Leong Village and burned.
For his actions, BP was charged with Article 458 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code and/or Article 459 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of death.
