Kymco Releases a Scooter Similar to the Honda ADV160 but at a Much Cheaper Price
JAKARTA - The adventure-style scooter market in China continues to heat up. One of the models that is currently being hotly discussed is the Kymco Dink G150 2026, which has just officially launched in the country.
However, public attention is not only focused on the specifications and price tag, but also the striking design similarities with the Honda ADV160. Starting from the shape of the side fairing, the rear body line, to the overall proportions that carry the adventure scooter concept, everything feels very familiar.
Reported by Greatbikers, Wednesday, January 28, even though Kymco is known as a Taiwanese manufacturer that has its own design features and a strong fan base in various countries. Therefore, the presence of Dink G150 with a look that resembles the Honda ADV is quite surprising to many parties.
Some of the most easily recognizable similarities include the sharp and sturdy stern design, the use of dual-purpose tires, and the ADV-typical two-level adjustable windshield. However, Kymco tries to give a different touch through the design of the front lights and the front fairing.
This effort makes the appearance of the Dink G150 actually feel closer to the ADV350 than the ADV160. Behind the design controversy, the Dink G150 is equipped with features that are quite complete in its class.
This scooter already carries full LED lighting, a digital LCD instrument panel, front and rear disc brakes with Bosch dual channel ABS, and a Traction Control System (TCS). Other features that are also embedded include Smart Key.
Then there is a start-stop system with a silent starter, dual shock rear suspension with a sub-tank that can be adjusted, as well as 14-inch front and rear rims. Interestingly, small details such as the air filter housing are also made to resemble Honda eSP+ technology.
However, the Kymco Dink G150 is given the name ECS+. For the engine, the Kymco Dink G150 relies on a 150 cc liquid-cooled engine that is capable of producing power of around 11.5 kW or equivalent to 15.6 hp, with a peak torque of 14.2 Nm.
The figure is almost equal to the Honda ADV160. One of the prominent advantages is the fuel tank capacity, which is 12 liters larger than its direct competitor.
Finally, the price is the main attraction of the Dink G150. This scooter was released in the Chinese market with a price tag of 13,980 yuan or Rp33 million, a price that is much more affordable than the ADV scooter sold in the range of Rp37 million to Rp41 million, and it is believed that this is the main reason why Kymco is targeting the Chinese market as the main target.
