Commission III of the DPR supports the Attorney General to forcibly pick up three Kajari: Jaksa Nakal's Firm Action

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR, Hasbiallah Ilyas, supports the firm steps of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) which forcibly picked up three heads of the Regional Attorney's Office (Kajari) related to the enforcement of discipline and law in the internal attorney's office.

Hasbi assessed that the steps of the Attorney General's Office were a serious commitment in carrying out reform and law enforcement in the internal prosecution.

According to him, firmness needs to be carried out so that the dignity and integrity of the institution are maintained. The three Kajari who were forcibly picked up were the Magetan Kajari Dezi Septiapermana, the Sampang Kajari Fadilah Helmi, and the Padang Lawas Kajari Soemarlin Halomoan Ritonga.

"We appreciate the Attorney General's firm step in enforcing internal law against prosecutors who are in trouble. The Attorney General must be firm with prosecutors who commit violations," Hasbi told reporters, Tuesday, January 27.

Hasbi also emphasized that if the prosecutors are proven to have committed violations, then a firm sanction must be given without discrimination. He emphasized that this firm action is important to provide a deterrent effect as well as a warning for all law enforcement officers.

"If it is proven that they have committed violations, the Attorney General's Office must provide a firm sanction. There must be no tolerance for violations of the law, especially by law enforcement officers," he said.

Hasbi stated that Commission III of the DPR fully supports the clean-up program carried out by the Attorney General's Office in the internal prosecutor's office. He assessed that this step was in line with efforts to strengthen public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

"Commission III fully supports the clean-up program in the internal prosecutor's office. Because the individual prosecutor who commits the violation will clearly tarnish the good name of the prosecutor's institution as a whole," said Hasbi.

The PKB legislator from the DKI Jakarta District emphasized that the public could help the Attorney General's Office by reporting rogue prosecutors.

"I am confident that the Attorney General's Office will take firm action against any prosecutor who violates it," concluded Hasbi.
