Mahathir Mohamad Appears to the Public in the midst of Recovery Period
JAKARTA - Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad made his first public appearance after 21 days of treatment and in the midst of a recovery period that he is still undergoing.
Reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 27, Mahathir's personal secretary Sufi Yusoff shared a photo showing Tun M (Mahathir's nickname) while at a cafe just to buy coffee.
Mahathir appeared to be sitting in a wheeled chair, accompanied by several people, at a coffee shop in the Damansara area, Kuala Lumpur. The condition of the 100-year-old man looks quite good.
On January 6, 2026, Mahathir suffered a broken right hip after falling at his residence at The Mines.
Since then, Mahathir has been treated at the National Heart Institute Hospital, where until now Mahathir is still undergoing physiotherapy without surgery.
