Parimo Police Unite Law Enforcement Steps to Implement KUHP-KUHAP Bar
PALU - The Parigi Moutong Police, Central Sulawesi, have united the steps and perceptions of law enforcement officers in the implementation of the new Criminal Code (KUHP) and the Code of Criminal Procedure (KUHAP).
The Parigi Moutong Police Chief AKBP Hendrawan in Parigi Moutong, Saturday, said the implementation of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code requires a common understanding from the beginning to the end of the law enforcement process.
According to him, the difference in interpretation between law enforcement officers can potentially cause legal uncertainty in society.
"The new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code are not only changes to articles, but also changes in the way of looking at law enforcement. Therefore, the National Police, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Court must have the same understanding so that the legal process runs professionally, fairly, and accountable," he said.
He conveyed this when leading the socialization and perception equality activities for the implementation of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Law Number 20 of 2025 concerning the Criminal Procedure Code.
This activity was attended by the Head of the Parigi Moutong District Prosecutor's Office, Purnama, the Head of the Parigi District Court Class II Zainal Ahmad, and the Main Officials (PJU) of the Parigi Moutong Police.
He said that the socialization was an important momentum to unite the steps and perceptions of law enforcement officials in welcoming the implementation of the new national criminal law system.
He emphasized that the synergy and intensive communication between law enforcement officers were the key to the success of the implementation of the new regulation, especially at the regional level.
In addition, the Police Chief also emphasized the importance of increasing the capacity of human resources of law enforcement officers so that they are able to translate legal norms appropriately in the practice of handling criminal cases.
The socialization is not only a forum for delivering materials, but also an open discussion space to align the technical aspects of the implementation of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, including its implications for handling criminal cases in the future.
Through this activity, he said, the Parigi Moutong Police together with the District Attorney's Office and the Parigi Moutong District Court emphasized their readiness and commitment to consistently escort the implementation of national criminal law in order to realize just law enforcement and to the public's interest.
