Indonesia Masters 2026: Jafar/Felisha Meet Dejan/Bernadine
JAKARTA - The mixed doubles team of Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu qualified for the second round of the 2026 Indonesia Masters and will meet fellow countrymen Dejan Ferdinansyah/Bernadine Anindya Wardana.
Jafar/Felisha, who are ranked as the sixth seed, passed the first round of the BWF Super 500 level competition after winning two games 21-14 and 21-19 against Kristoffer kolding/Mette Werge from Denmark on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
"It's not easy because we also play less than maximum, there are still many things to be improved. Then, they were pretty good playing today. So, it was tight," said Jafar after the match.
Jafar/Felisha is the second Indonesian mixed doubles to qualify for the second round following in the footsteps of Dejan/Bernadine. The two clashes in the second round automatically ensure that one quarterfinal ticket for the host is already in hand.
Felisha said that playing at home is always special because they get great support from the audience. That, he said, is different and they rarely get it when they play in other countries.
"Of course it's nice. What, yes, it feels like playing abroad is not like this. However, there is actually a negative for us as well. If we are too excited or we even think too much about everything, it will backfire for us," he said.
The successful journey of the two pairs was followed by Bimo Prasetyo/Arlya Nabila Thesya Munggaran and Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, who both lost against the Danish representatives.
Bimo/Arlya lifted the suitcase after losing three games 8-21, 21-15, and 12-21 against Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje, while Bobby/Melati lost two games straight 19-21, 15-21 against eighth seed Jesper Toft/Amalie Magelund.
