RedMagic 11 Air Officially Launched, Carrying Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Transparent Design

JAKARTA - Nubia through its flagship gaming sub-brand, RedMagic, officially introduced the RedMagic 11 Air. This latest smartphone still carries the DNA of a typical gaming phone with extreme performance, but comes in a relatively slimmer body than the standard RedMagic device before.

The RedMagic 11 Air retains the iconic transparent design that showcases the internal elements of the device. The back is inspired by vinyl records, race tracks, and geometric art. Not to forget, the active cooling fan with RGB lighting remains as the main feature of the RedMagic line.

On the front, the phone is equipped with a 6.85-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1.5K with a refresh rate of 144Hz. RedMagic calls it a "true full screen" because it uses a 16MP front camera under the screen. This screen also supports 2592Hz PWM dimming and DC dimming, with ultra-thin bezels of 1.25 mm and a screen-to-body ratio of 95.1 percent.

In terms of performance, the RedMagic 11 Air is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with the special Redcore R4 gaming chip. This device uses LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and a self-made performance optimization engine called CUBE Sky Engine. RedMagic claims that its performance is more stable than competing phones that use MediaTek Dimensity 9500, especially for heavy games, and supports 144Hz mode in many game titles.

As a gaming phone, the RedMagic 11 Air also comes with a professional shoulder trigger button with a touch sampling rate of 520Hz. The cooling system is quite complex, combining aerospace-grade aluminum frames, graphene copper foil, 4D vapor chambers, and internal fans and dual-track cooling systems to keep the temperature stable during long gaming sessions.

For power, this phone is equipped with a jumbo 7,000 mAh battery with 120W cable fast charging support and a bypass charging feature that is ideal for gaming. RedMagic 11 Air runs REDMAGIC OS 11.0 and presents a variety of AI-based features, ranging from image search, real-time translation, object recognition, to AI tactical coach that can provide advice while playing games.

With all of these specifications, the RedMagic 11 Air has a thickness of 7.85 mm. Although it is not too thin for the "Air" embellishment, this device is claimed to be the thinnest mobile phone in the industry that has an internal cooling fan.

The RedMagic 11 Air is priced starting at 3,699 yuan or around 530 US dollars for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage version is sold for 4,399 yuan or around 631 US dollars. At launch, this phone is available in Quantum Black and Stardust White colors, with the Aurora Silver variant to follow in March.
